Meet Hannah - she joined PKF Brenson Lawlor as part of the 2026 graduate intake last September and is now a trainee in the firm's Company Secretarial team.
I wanted to start my career at PKF because of the massive emphasis they place on professional development, mentorship and support, as well as the general workplace culture that comes with being in a training firm. So far, every expectation I had has been exceeded. Working in an office surrounded by other young professionals who are all striving to learn and develop in their careers is as fun as it is inspiring and motivating, and the firm itself, alongside the more senior staff, couldn’t be more supportive in helping us along.
In CoSec, we work directly with clients to fulfil all the legal obligations that come with owning and managing a company. We collaborate across all departments to ensure that companies are fully compliant with government requirements, and beyond that, we advise and act on behalf of companies on a wide range of corporate governance matters. Companies’ Annual Returns are our forte, but we handle everything from new company formations to restructurings, share transfers, strike-offs, and more.
If you’re considering applying to the graduate programme, my advice would be to trust your experience and be your authentic self throughout the application process. Very few new grads will have packed CVs, but the ability to extract useful skills from whatever experience you have, show a real desire to learn, and put your genuine personality forward will set you apart from the others. For those starting in the programme, ask as many questions as you can, treat every mistake as a chance to learn something new, and go to the social events! Some of the best support you’ll find, both personally and professionally, as you start off in your career will come from the friends you inevitably make at PKF.
